American Police Officers Alliance attended the annual National Sheriffs Association Conference in New Orleans, LA. The staff had an exhibit booth set up in the convention center while sheriffs from all over the United States came by to learn about American Police Officers Alliance.
Each year, sheriffs, deputies, and other law enforcement professionals gather for the annual conference and exhibition as well as the winter conference. The conferences provide platforms for lively debate on law enforcement issues that matter most, sheriff and law enforcement training and exhibits setup by companies and nonprofits, who back the blue, from all over the United States.
Those who stopped by the exhibit booth not only learned about American Police Officer Alliance, but also submitted their contact information to join our subscriber list. We keep in touch with them via e-newsletters each month informing them of what we are currently working on and what other future conferences we are attending. Giveaways such as stress balls, stickers and light-up keychains were also quite the hit as staff explained the mission and values of the organization.
We would also talk with the law enforcement professionals about their department struggles and challenges and informed them of how we could be of assistance. Many departments stressed their lack of safety measures and training. Those two aspects of law enforcement are easily overlooked.
We plan to be in attendance for the winter conference in Washington D.C. in February to continue establishing our database and spreading our mission and value to even more law enforcement professionals.
