[1/9/2026, Puyallup, WA]– American Police Officers Alliance (APOA), in partnership with the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA), proudly co-hosted the Save Our Sheriff Event on January 9 at Experience Church in Puyallup, Washington- an impactful gathering focused on defending the constitutional authority of America’s elected sheriffs and opposing growing government overreach.
Concerned citizens, law enforcement supporters, and constitutional advocates filled the venue in a powerful show of unity, standing in support of local sheriffs who are increasingly facing political pressure, bureaucratic interference, and legislative attacks that undermine their oath to the Constitution.
The evening’s keynote address was delivered by General Michael Flynn, who issued a clear call to action for Americans to protect the foundational institutions of local self-government. General Flynn emphasized that sheriffs are the only law enforcement officials directly elected by the people and warned that efforts to bypass or weaken their authority amount to an attack on voters themselves.
Throughout the event, speakers highlighted the increasing challenges faced by sheriffs in Washington State and across the nation—particularly those who choose to uphold constitutional law over politically driven mandates. Special attention was given to the pressures facing Pierce County Sheriff Keith Swank, including legislative proposals that would impose unelected oversight boards, restrict cooperation with federal agencies, and dilute the independence of the Office of the Sheriff.
Sam Bushman, CEO of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, reinforced that sheriffs answer to the people—not governors, agencies, or distant bureaucracies—and that their role as peace officers is central to preserving liberty and the rule of law.
The event also marked an important step forward in national collaboration. Daniel Stuebs, Executive Director of American Police Officers Alliance, announced a strengthened partnership between APOA and CSPOA, uniting both organizations around a shared mission: to ensure constitutional sheriffs are elected, supported, and defended across the country.
“This partnership brings together two organizations committed to protecting the Constitution and the officers who swear to uphold it,” Daniel Stuebs said. “Together, we will work to ensure that constitutional sheriffs are not only elected—but never stand alone.”
The Save Our Sheriff Rally served not only as an educational forum, but as a mobilization—empowering citizens to engage locally, support their sheriffs, and stand firm against efforts that erode constitutional governance.
