WASHINGTON D.C. – [November 6, 2025] – The American Police Officers Alliance today issued a statement commending President Donald Trump for his decisive action in deploying federal law enforcement to Portland, Oregon, to protect federal property and support local police amidst ongoing unrest and attacks targeting law enforcement.
“President Trump has once again proven himself to be the unwavering champion our police officers desperately need,” said Dan Stebbins, Executive Director of the American Police Officers Alliance. “For weeks, we have witnessed a disgraceful assault on law and order in Portland, with federal buildings under siege and local police facing relentless aggression. While many have stood by, President Trump bravely stepped in, demonstrating his unyielding commitment to the safety of our officers and the rule of law.”
The American Police Officers Alliance highlights that federal officers were deployed to protect critical federal infrastructure, including the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse, which has been subjected to nightly attacks. These actions have also provided much-needed relief and support to the overworked and beleaguered Portland Police Bureau.
“The brave men and women of the Portland Police Bureau have been put in an impossible situation, facing nightly violence with limited resources and political support,” Stebbins continued. “President Trump’s intervention is a clear message that attacks on law enforcement will not be tolerated, and that our officers, federal and local, deserve to be protected as they work to protect us. We urge all Americans to stand with President Trump and our police officers against the forces of anarchy and disorder.”
