[3/16/2021 ALBANY, NY.] – “Coffee Drop for Cops,” an initiative coordinated and sponsored by grassroots political organization American Police Officers Alliance, is a nationwide program designed to thank local police officers, boost morale, and help communities show support for their law enforcement. American Police Officers Alliance launched this initiative at the beginning of 2021 and plans to continue running the program throughout the year.
The first “Coffee Drop for Cops” happened earlier this month in Albany, Bethlehem, and Schenectady, New York. These police departments were nominated by members of the community, and were delivered by hand by the nominees. Coffee and sweet treats were delivered to the Albany County Sheriff Department, Albany Police Department, Bethlehem Police Department, and Schenectady Police Department. The local volunteers of these drops opted to cover the costs of the coffee and treats, which will allow the organization to provide even more drops in the coming months.
“We started ‘Coffee Drops for Cops’ to bring some joy and support back to local departments on behalf of their communities. Ultimately we want our police to know that they still have support. Being nominated for a coffee drop is a small gesture with a big impact to let police know that their communities and our organization stand behind them and stand with them,” American Police Officers Alliance Executive Director Daniel Stuebs commented.
