American Police Officers Alliance release statement on Poll Results and Election Successes

ARLINGTON, Virginia – Dan Stuebs, Political Director of the American Police Officers Alliance, issued the following statement relating to results of the We Ask America Poll and Successes in the mid-term elections

“Pete Stauber’s victory in Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District confirms that Americans want new leaders in Congress to address law enforcement issue. When close to half of Americans in the WeAskAmerica poll disapprove of the handling of Congress on law enforcement issues, it shows that the same old leaders cannot solve today’s issues. Americans are looking for new leaders like Pete Stauber to solve the problems that law enforcement officers in our country is facing. We hope Stauber’s win will inspire more current and retired law enforcement officers to step up and run for office.”

The 2018 WeAskAmerica Poll found that 42 percent respondents disapprove or strongly disapprove of the job performance of Congress on law enforcement issues. This is compared to the 31 percent who approve or strongly approve.
